The Kauri House Lodge

Arriving at Dargaville was like waking up to a cold, rainy morning. We desperately wanted to find a warm, cozy motel that feels a little bit like home, but motels at Dargaville do not live up to their reputations (or so tripadvisor claims), that’s why we tried something new: Bed and Breakfast. Usually, B&B’s don’t offer (affordable) rooms for more than 2 people but the Kauri House Lodge didn’t have any other guests, so … we had a night at the museum! Every detail in this building is perfectly staged, uncountable pictures, figures, clocks and other things make it a memorable place. Unfortunately, the very old wooden smell does, too. Maybe something to tell our grandchildren, one day.
