Fire

Starting from a spark thrown on dry grass during earthworks, spreading to the forests of Pigeon, Eve’s and Redwood Valley. Declaration of state of emergency and mass evacuations followed, firefighters, helicopters with monsoon buckets and executive forces working day and night shifts in this hell trying to contain it. Still isn’t after a week. The picture is from the first night when we stood on our hilltop and looked south-east, watching this monster feed and expand even more with every passing hour. A worrying sight.

Update: It took around a month to get it under control but the danger is now over, so it seems. Thanks to the unrelenting firefighters!
