Watching the eclipse

“Did anyone draw the curtains? It feels kind of dark in here, doesn’t it?” – It’s the day of the eclipse! Unfortunately not a total one as it can be viewed in northern Australia, but impressive anyway. Our camera definitely reached its limits, so we could get only some nice indirect shots of the eclipse in lens flares.

“Hell, why didn’t we bring our eclipse glasses from Austria?!” – New Zealanders are experts in improvising, so are we. A muesli bar wrapping foil does the trick as well. For reference, “pams yoghurt apricot” does a better job than “nice&natural superfruits strawberry & blackcurrant”.

A pin hole camera (a sheet of paper with a very small hole) also gives a very good impression of the moon’s current position.
