Sunrise with Janie

The rusted remains of the Janie Seddon shipwreck on the Motueka foreshore, a relic 10 years ago, now just a decaying shell of her former self.

Purple pink sky and a reluctantly appearing band of light on the horizon.
Carefully I try my luck and jump from stone to stone on the makeshift path. Counting a few misses I give up and rely on the promised waterproofness of my shoes. Turns out, 10 cm of watery mud are nothing to them, phew.
Slowly, the pinks turn orange and it won’t be long until the sun rises.
But there will be no sun in this post ;)

Haiku to Janie:

as the sun rose up

former beauty turned to dust

battery is flat
