Golden Bay

A day away from home, showing the kid around in Golden Bay.

First stop is The Grove in Clifton, a nikau jungle.
From the cave balcony you can see most of Takaka’s foreshore, quite amazing.
He’s not sure what he’s supposed to make of this.
Walking through a rock split (it’s way too narrow to be a canyon).
Two sets of stairs help with the steeper parts.
Split rocks everywhere!
Walking can make you hungry!
Second stop: Wainui Beach, and since it’s still very warm (especially the sea), some of us go for it!
It doesn’t get any better :)
Baby feet in the sand, he’s indifferent about that weird feeling.
Patiently guiding the baby steps so he doesn’t try to eat some.
The Wainui sand spit.
Packing everything back into place before heading for the Inland Track (just the first few hundred metres).
Sand spit from above, we were at the right hand side, facing the open Tasman Sea.
A lost world.
One day we will walk the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi tracks with you, little C.
