Salzburg Altstadt

Two hours wandering the old world.

In freudiger Erwartung hasten wir durch die stickigen Tunnel der Moenchsberg-Garage Richtung Altstadt.
With a sharp right turn we enter the Erzabtei, a catholic church and monastery dating to the 7th century, featuring a cemetery, catacombs and a museum.
Inside St. Peter.
They’ve got a massive Christmas display.
Little Jesus still in his crib, well guarded.
Walking up the cemetery path.
Very interesting place, next time we’ll also see the catacombs.
Next stop: Buying a warm milk roll at Stiftsbäckerei St Peter.
Quick detour through the still open Christkindlmarkt at Domplatz.
Some things you can buy here are still as we remember them from our childhoods.
Especially these ones, licking off all the sugar coating, the rest is just plain old apple that, sadly, tastes like nothing after the sweet shock.
Filling up our reserves of Mozartkugeln at the original store.
